FAQ

FAQ - Solar Systems
What happens on cloudy days or at night? >
Solar panels can still generate some electricity on cloudy days, but output decreases. At night you can draw electricity from the grid or alternatively use battery storage if installed.
The initial upfront cost of installation is too high. Will the solar system solution prices go lower within the next few years? >
Solar system prices are unlikely to decrease significantly in the coming years. Beyond panel costs, factors like labor, inverters, and electrical components can impact prices. Additionally, with electricity tariffs consistently rising in the past, delaying installation could mean missing out on substantial savings.
What is SolaRIS? >
The Solar for Rakyat Incentive Scheme (SolaRIS) is a government initiative to encourage the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in residential properties. This program aligns with the government's goal to increase renewable energy capacity to 70% of the electricity supply by 2050 and reduce carbon emissions. Residential customers who apply for Net Energy Metering (NEM) through the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia starting 1st April 2024, and successfully commission their solar PV systems with TNB, can receive a cash rebate of up to RM4,000.
